The Ivy Yoga School is dedicated to the study and practice of yoga posture, philosophy and mindful movement. Classes are geared toward those new to the practice and to those students more experienced that want to move more deeply and at a slower pace.

All the teachers at the Ivy Yoga School are dedicated students of yoga, always learning and delving deeper into the understanding of yoga, so that their teaching remains fresh and inspired.

Ivy Yoga School is only 15 minutes West from downtown Charlottesville, situated in the country at the beautiful Meriwether Springs Vineyard.

Bridget Baylin


Bridget discovered yoga in 1998 and has been practicing Ashtanga Yoga since 2001.  Bridget loves studying other methods of yoga as well, and getting creative with her approach to teaching depending on the preferences and needs of her students.  She is now focusing her training on Ayurveda and integrated wellness, and incorporates what she knows about promoting balance in mind and body into her yoga lessons.  Bridget’s class focuses on building strength, alignment and breath control so that her students can explore the physical, emotional and spiritual gifts of yoga.

Blossom Dawes

Blossom has been teaching yoga in the Charlottesville area since 1999. She completed Yoga Alliance 200 hour certification at Yoga Source in Richmond, Va. with Jennifer Elliott and Sandra Pleasants in 2004.
She loves sharing the practice of yoga through teaching. By continuing to grow as a student of yoga, she is able to teach from her personal experience. She teaches self-compassion and mindfulness, and offers yoga as a way to create positive patterns in body and mind.

Jennifer Elliott

Jennifer has been a student of yoga for over 35 years and a teacher for over 25. She is a dedicated Ashtanga practitioner but loves to explore the physical and energetic alignment of the postures along with the breath,  and how this can heal and transform our lives on a very basic level to a more profound one.

Joanna Hughes

Joanna has been practicing yoga since 1998 primarily in the Ashtanga tradition. She completed 200 ryt in vinyasa flow with Cyndi Lee. Yoga has been pivotal in sailing thru the responsibilities of raising 4 children and working as a nurse. By taking lessons learned on the mat and applying them to the challenges of everyday life, she would like to help others tap into their own compassion, wisdom and stillness.
